Tahoe third seats with barn doors

Recommended Posts

I see conflicting information that thirds seats will and won't fit in a Tahoe with barn.

The holes for the seat brackets are in the floor pan so I know it's possible to mount them.

Has anyone actually tried to put them in? If so how tight are they?

The interior volume between the hatch, and barn door models doesn't appear to be that different.

Do the seats actually hit anything?? If so what?

I could really use the occasional extra seating capacity, if I can make them work.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Maybe its more of a seat fits but people don't issue, or a stretch here but maybe the door changes the crash worthiness and seats back there would be too dangerous. I really don't know and I'm throwing these out there since know one else has suggested anything. Can you do a 24 hour test drive on a truck that has the third row, go home and try to put them in yours to see for sure?

i think its the safety issue, a tailgate has a better ability to not fold during impact,, (bars inside runing horizontal) rather than the barn doors which can fold inward, the clearance is probably not even an issue b/c both the barn doors and the lift gate take up the same amount of room... thats weird though
