Chris97K1500 Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 I've had an ongoing problem with my truck now for weeks since I got my truck back from the tranny shop after upgrading the internals and new torque converter, and TransGo shift kit. Really harsh 1st to 2nd shift and it wants to sputter when trying to shift, like it can't make up it's mind. Hoping it was something like the copper plugs I installed around the same time my tranny went south, I replaced those with stock AC/Delco platinums, but the problem persisted. Next I took out my Westers PCM and put my stock PCM back in, problem fixed. Shifts like a dream, but now I have no power! I've sent an email to Lyndon to find out if with the new shift kit and his line pressure parameters he put in his PCM that problems could arise due to too much pressure. I just wanted to thanks those that tried to diagnose my problems! And just ask if anyone has experienced anything like this? Thanks, Chris
Butch 02 Denali Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Chris, You absolutly must have Lyndon turn down the shift pressure when you put in a shift kit! You found out why! Anyone ordering a tune from Wester's or anyone else, tell them if you have a shift kit! Butch 02 Sierra Denali
Chris97K1500 Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 Yeah, I figured that was the problem, too bad my tranny didn't go out before getting the Westers, at least then I could have told Lyndon I had a shift kit. Thanks, Chris
Chris97K1500 Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 Lyndon wrote me back this morning, great service, he said that the shift kit is to blame. All I got to do is send it back and get it reprogrammed, thanks, Chris
