Avalanche Oil Question

Having read the Avalanche Oil consumption post...I went out and checked my oil level. (The AV has the longest dip-stick I've ever seen)!

Anyway, the oil was just below the 2nd dot on the stick! I am currently at 2300 miles.   :0

Should the oil level be "at" or "above" all dots on the dip-stick? :stupid: Does this reading indicate a "Low" level? It is still above the "Add" mark!

 

I also happened to catch (out the corner of my eye) a "white" plumb of smoke from my exhaust when I goosed the accelerator down while coming off a light one day. Should this be of concern or documented at my dealer?

I just went out and checked mine in my 6.0L   There are 5 holes on the dipstick with #5 being max.  My oil after sitting almost 12 hours was 1/2 way between #4 and #5 (almost full).  This is with almost 1900 miles and almost 4 months of very short trips and a couple hundred miles towing approx 8500 lbs.  I think mine is only down a few ounces....
