'99 Suburban Suspension Suggestions

Hi,

Just got a '99 Suburban 1500 a few months back it's got 60k miles and probably needs the suspension tweaked a bit. I'm about to go get new shocks but was thinking of getting an air leveling system ... We're going to pull a 2.5 ton boat trailer at times. basiclly a family car though. Should I bother or get some nice shocks do the bushings wear out and should I replace them when I do the shocks?

Also I'm trying to help the whole thing go around corners better .. we travel frequently on the twisty roads of WVA almost every other weekend in the winter.

I'm certain that there are plenty of suggestions out there...

I have the same truck and I pull a steel 2 horse trailer that is close to 5000 lbs with two on. It is well balanced so it doesn't pull the back end of the truck down. I see no need for an air leveling system as long as you pay attention to tongue weight. The right size tires, properly inflated and good shocks will go a long way towards improving the handling of these big, top-heavy vehicles.
