Cabelas hood shield

I'm looking for a new hood shield as my Lund Interceptor has not stood the test of time. It has a very hazy, cloudy and worn-out look (for well over a year now). Effectively it only looked good for about 3 years. Comparitively, my buddy's Bugflector still looks new and we bought trucks withing three months of each other. I'm not crazy about the Bugflector though. I have contacted Lund and they will not stand behind their product. So, I have seen the Cabelas full-wrap hood shield from about 30 feet away and it looks good. I don't want to use those rubber stops that some hood shields use, so I was hoping someone here could fill me in.

Go to a local street bike shop and get a spray product called Plexus. It is a special polish for lexan and polycarbon plastic that will amaze you. They even make a little $3-4 bottle because you only need a little bit. Use it with a soft cloth and it will remove the haze. Car racers use a lot of it and for polishing chrome and stuff. It was originally developed for the military to clean helicopter and jet canopies.

I have been using a very mild automotive polish (Poorboy's SSR1) to clear up the haze. Works well, but the haze returns in 2-3 weeks. Will the Plexus leave a permanently renewed finish or will I have to use it every few weeks? Does anyone else have this issue with bugshields or windvisors?

Any lexan will need cleaning from time to time, plexus or not. A lot of it depends on how much damage has been done before and how dirty it gets(bugs etc.). Plexus does last a long time though.

While it cost a few bucks more, I have a GM smoked bug sheild. It is 4 years old and looks like new. The shape matches the truck perfectly and you don't have to stick anything to your hood.

I paid $80 for mine.
