the new 6 cylinder's BMW is making for their coupes, sedans and sports cars are wicked. they are bi-turbos: a small turbo for low speed, and a bigger turbo for higher engine speeds:

they make 272 HP at 4,500RPM(over 90HP per liter)

they make 390 ft-lb of toruqe at 1,500 RPM. that's more, lower, than the new LS2!!!

they max at 416 ft-lb's at 2,000 RPM.

They will perform better than s their comparable gas powered engines, for instance: at a stoplight contest the upcoming 535d(inline 6 diesel), will roast an 545i(320~ HP V-8).

:thumbs::sigh::)

if they stuff these babies in the X5(especially if they make V-8 variants), you'll be able to buy a U.S.A. built, over-engineered Ultimate Towing Machine(for small to medum stuff,; Automobile Magazine stated a feew years back that the long-term X5 was more stable pulling racing go-carts traliers than their personally owned Surburban).

Not to take awya fromn GM trucks, but more and more of them are being buiilt oversea's, while German and Japanese companies are pumping more and more job's into our economy. Go figure

Is Volkswagen doing the same with their cars as well? I had heard from several car e-zines that VW is going bi-turbo diesel in as many of their cars as fiancially possible.
