Greetings,

Any thoughts on the quality of Sunoco gas? It used to be "the" stuff in my hot rod days. A convienience store chain is offering it a good prices in my area.

Thanks,

What I don't like about Sunoco is that they advertise a good price, but when you pull in to fill up it's the 86 Octane stuff they were advertising.  To get 87 Octane costs a few cents more per gallon and is more expensive than all the surrounding stations.  That sort of advertising just rubs my fur the wrong way.

With that in mind, I drive the Ohio and Pennsylvania Turnpikes regulary and all the plazas sell Sunoco gasoline.  I bend over, buy the 87 and go on my way.  Never had a problem with the gas being bad.

I think Sunoco and QuikFill both offer 93 or 93.5 Octane in their premium fuels, but what mj says is true...  I think they are the only ones that sell 86 octane

Back in the day, they used to seel a 94 super unleaded back when everyone else just had 92.  I stumbled across it on a couple of trips up north.  Ran good in the car didn't notice a big performance gain.
