Please be gentle, guys, I bought a Nissan Titan back in June and I love it!

Now, understand that I checked out the 1500 and the Ford F-150 and I liked both for various reasons. My bro-in-law has a 1500 Z71 4X4 that he got to tow his 20 foot boat, and the first time I rode in it I said man I gotta get me one of these! Forgot to tell you his is an '02. Anyhoo, when we decided to trade our stuffy cruise ship formal wear for a travel trailer I knew this was my chance to upgrade from my trusty, yet small 94 Toyota, which had 150,000 miles on it and still runs like a champ.

I drove the Z71 and loved it's comfort and the tranny and the overall ride. The F-150 with all it's hype was a disappointment as it felt underpowered and a bit stiff for me. I was ready to take the plunge with the Chev until a couple trailer gear-heads told me they read that the Nissan was rated high, yadda yadda. Well, I drove it and fell in love. It felt like I had my old '69 Firebird back again, except the Titan has incredible response! The kids liked the back seat better, the only thing I'm crossing my fingers about is that it's a new year model, so I got the extended warranty.

I have to tell you, when I tow my 32 foot travel trailer, I can barely tell it's back there except for the throaty exhaust kicking it up a notch. And since I put the Banks monster exhaust on, it is a beast! Tows my 7000 lb. trailer like nothing and unhitched it's like a freaking hot rod!

I really like the Silverados. I can find fault with Fords, and don't even get me started on the Ram. That overhyped hemi balderdash is such cr*p! But I'v always like the styling, the dependability and the longevity of Chevy, but this Titan is the real deal I think. I'll tell you this...it didn't win independent towing tests for nothing. It is one heavy duty hauler. Anyway, just wanted to share. I'll always respect, and maybe down the road go with a Chevy, so good luck with your rigs. Here's to problem free trucking for all of us!

Congrats on the purchase and good luck with it. I drove one after buying my Sierra and I came away impressed with it, though I don't regret buying what I have now. The Titan was definitely an impressive performer from what I found.

I can handle the ribbing, believe me I get it here at work, being the only "rice burner" in the entire parking lot. I just like to edumucate myself as much as possible, just in case things change....you never know.

At least Nissan is proving themselves as major contenders in the full size truck market. Toyota tries and tries, but they just can't do it. Mazda........yeah, right.

Nissan appears to have come a long way in a few short years. With a few exceptions, they were the joke when it came to power... `Seems they're getting even...

But they're a bit pricey.

I was looking at a Titan last year but it was parked & locked... Saw it had a Mark Levinson audio system in it. Do you have that and if so, do you like it?

That's OK, I drive an old Taurus for the commutes.. That old thing still won't die!, I keep my Avalanche for the (cushy-comfy) trips & get-togethers, and the S-10 as a space occupier - unless I need to carry a load of some sort. Surprising what it'll carry for a small truck.

Did Ford ever smooth out the ride on the F250's? That was my biggest gripe, the truck's tough as hell but felt like it rolling down the road.

Oops, that was an honest typo. I mean glad you like the Titan!

Sperry, my '03 F250 rides rough-no two ways around it. Solid front axle and front leaf springs and that's what you get. The 2005 models have coil-spring front suspension and from what I hear that smoothed the ride out alot along with decreasing the turining radius.

Those titans are growing on me. I want to go test drive one. Everything I read sawys the engine feel more powerful than they claim(which is what all current Nissan engine are supposed to be like)

I also want to check out the all-new, 05 Xterra, with a 4.0L V-6(255HP) based on the Titan V8, and supposed to be improved over it's off-road oriented 1st gen. What what I see, it was what the next gen Blazer should have been, if it were to have ever been made.
