duramax fuel systems

I recently found a rather peculiar problem with my 2003 duramax.

While on a holiday last september Iwas purchasing fuel rather than my local bulk fuel store. While away I found the truck was hard starting. At this time I replaced the fuel filter, when I had arrived home I found the hard start problem had occured again, changed to another filter as well as a Catrepillar w/f separator.

Thinking I has aced the praoblem ,thinking I was rid of the fuel dilemma ,only to find in one week Iwould be replacing another filter. It is now the end of Nov.and today I found the real problem ,I removed the tank thinking I had dirt in the system, which was very clean inside.removed the suction lines from the tank and also the ones from the lines directly to the left of the transmission.

I pressure tested both of these lines and found several pin holes in both of these braided lines.

Now when I looked at the fuel system and found out there is no fuel transfer pump ,except in the fuel injection pump,I am sure now that I have found the problem as the truck has more power now,and should not go through a filter per week.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem OR would be able to actually use this as a warranty claim and not have to go to the troubleshooting I have had to do .

I have not had this problem yet, and the answer to your other question: Hell yeah it is covered under warranty. I would have not even messed with it just had it straight into the shop. That's what we pay the big bucks for is, bumber to bumber warranties!
