why is the PRO-TEC (composite bed) only avail. on ext. cab short bed Z71s?

kinda makes you wonder doesn't it because you would think that it would be a good feature for a work truck and most work trucks are basic models and 2wd.

yes thats what i was thinking...i am sure construction companies would love a durable bed that doesn't dent, and i know that construction companies do not wanna cough up the big bucks to get Z71s

But it's like that with a lot of thing. You really aren't left open with options you want to choose. You've got to get something you don't want or need to get something you do. I guess in a way it will keep the cost down by making all the trucks pretty much the same, but it's the consumer who suffers.
