VIBRATION!

I have a 2001 2500HD 4x4. Whenever I get to a speed range of about 72-79 and RPMs around 2600 I get a pretty serious vibration. It only does it if I am in overdrive. It's not a shake in the wheel, but a vvvvvvvvvv in the front and it seems like under the cab too. I don't know where to start for a diagnosis. Help please.

Check the front universal joint. Just had mine replaced after hearing a similar noise.

If it's speed specific, and isn't present at speeds lower than what you had mentioned...I would start with the u-joints as well.

Well, I took the truck to the transmission shop and was unpleasantly surprised with the fact that there was next to NO LUBRICATION IN THE TRANSFER CASE! Two tiny little holes were found and that's how my oil escaped. I bought the truck used a little less than a month ago with 78,500 miles, have put about 1,000 on it since I bought it. I gotta get ready to spend some money. MY GOODNESS! I just spent $2,000 on a transmission rebuild on my other truck and now this. When it rains it pours.
