New Silverado Owner here, few questions

Hey everyone, I just bought a 00 Silverado z71 stepside, 4dr, x cab, LT and it has a retractable rollout tonneau cover and a visor on it.... Well I do not like the visor on it... How bad will it be to take off and can anyone help me out guiding me through it. I am going to have holes in the roof right? What should I do about that?

Thanks for any help guys, I appreciate it!

Well I honestly dont know too much about how the visors go on. I would assume they must be fastened one somehow. Anyhow, you have a few options. You could possibly buy some cab light to put there depending on the location of the holes, or you could just get some nice SS screws and paint the heads body color, then just put a little silicone around them to seal it up. Obviously you could have the holes filled and then the roof painted, but that might be a couple hundred bucks. Take some pics of how it is mounted and someone might be able to come with something good.

thanks, i will snap a few pics as soon as i get a chance, I was just hoping someone had one or something, it is a lund visor. But i appreciate the reply. Also what exhaust sounds good on the 5.3 that isnt ungodly expensive.

I have put a LUND visor on all my trucks,I love the way they look.

But to take one off is a chore because when they tighten up the bolts that hold the visor on,boy does it do some strange things to the sheetmetal!!

I have taken mine off in the past on some of my trucks to clean under them every once in awhile and its not a pretty site!! (Dead bugs, leaves, little pebbles,etc..)

We have done it here at the dealership a couple of times for people who bought used trucks and wanted them off.

I would suggest taking your truck to a good body shop and letting them take it off and properly fill the holes and straighten the roof panel (If ness.) and repaint the roof,it might cost a few hundred bucks but if you want it off thats the only right way to do it.
