OIL pressure

When my truck is cold the oil pressure is fine, howerver, after it heats up it lowers quite a bit. When I raise the rpms it doesn't change the reading. Is this serious or is it a faulty factory gauge?

With that kind of mileage it may just be that your engine is tired and all your tolerances aren't as tight as they used to be or you may just need a new Oil pump.A bad pump could give you good pressure when it was cold but when the oil warms up it thins out and the pressure would drop. Are you getting any excess lifter noise when the gauge gives you the low pressure reading? If you are then it is not the gauge, so get it checked out or you may be buying a new engine sooner than you want. Hope this helps :smash:
