6.0 motor

I am looking at purchasing an 05 GMC 4X4 Crew Cab with the 6.0 motor.

Do all these motors make all the noises that people write in about here.

Are there any up grades to the 05 motor that might alleviate the concerns

so many have written about here concerning the CSK and ticking noises.

my 04 6.0 is very noisy all the time 5,300 miles dealer said they all are gm gave me ext. warranty.

Under 20K on my 04 and it ticks when cold, but as far as engine noise, yeah it has some at stock. I have an air intake which is louder, and magnaflow exhaust, so my truck has a nice rumble. My brother-in-law has the 5.3L and it is more quiet than mine (as stock).

 

But hey, it's not as loud as my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Around town you could not carry a conversation with anyone, but that was all stock and 100% of them were that way.

no ticking from my 6.0, 7100 miles on it, but since new there is a whirling noise comming from the exhaust system...could not figure that one out even with the magnaflow race muffler it makes the noise...
