GM has what they call a supplier discount. I did a search on it but couldn't come up with any connection to anyone that might be eligible. I didn't get far enough to find out how much off of a vehicle the discount would be. Go to Google search and try GM supplier discount and you should be finding some info.

Thanks. I did look around and found an article on the X-plan and Dodge plan but nothing on GM. Sure would like a 1500HD but will settle for a new F150 if I have to because one of the things that I truly hate in this world is dealing with car salesmen and the silly games they play.

Thanks again for your reply.

Try this www.supplierprograms.com I was considering a Ford also with the x plan. After getting the rebates and a good trade in along with a huge discount I did better on a Chevy than I would have with a Ford x plan. I guess it depends on the dealer.

As a GM Supplier you get the invoice price (what the dealer paid for the vehicle) + 10 %. There is no haggling over the price. Most of the rebates still apply. However there are a few exemptions- one that comes to mind is the college grad program. www.gmsupplierdiscount.com Of course dealer participation may apply. BTW the salesman usualy make a flat $100 from a GM Supplier, GMO and GMS sale.

The GM Supplier Discount is for the imediate family of a GM Supplier. A supplier is a company that supplies goods or services to General Motors such as Firestone employees, Sitel (the Customer Assistance Center monkeys), Workhorse customs and hundreds of other companies The GM Employee discount is another discount usualy called GMO (General Motors Ordered vehicle) or GMS (General Motors Stock vehicle). GMO and GMS are billed to to the customer at invoice price and is available to most relatives that can get that employee's i.d. # and a form from the employees' factory/office. Most dealership employees will get GMO/GMS pricing as a fringe benefit. The dealership I work at has GMC/Ponitac/ Jeep/Ford/Kia/ Toyota and Nissan, so I have a large choice of rock-bottom priced vehicles to choose from. I am either getting a Crew Cab Canyon or a diesel powered Jeep Liberty.

If you are a GM employee / retiree or an immediate family member, you are eligible for GMS pricing if you order the vehicle or buy it from dealer stock. (There used to be larger GMO discount when ordering a vehicle, but that program no longer exists.) I think the discount varies from about 10% - 15%+ off MSRP depending on the vehicle. Employees have 6 authorizations per year for themselves and family.

If you are a GM supplier, you can get GM supplier pricing. I believe it is 4% above the GMS price.

If you are a friend of a GM employee, they can get you an authorization number for the GM in the Driveway program. Employees can get two authorizations per month. The price is the same as GM supplier pricing.

These prices are no-dicker prices, except for whatever deal you can work on financing and/or trade-in. Dealers and/or GM can exclude specific vehicle models from discount eligibility. If a specific dealer says they won't offer a vehicle on GMS or GM supplier pricing, shop around, even out of state. When I found an Ohio dealer that would give me GMS on a vette, my local dealer changed his mind. Thanks to my father, a GM retiree, I use his GMS discount at least yearly.

GMS pricing is great. No hassle but they try to get you on your trade if they can. There was a program about 2 months ago called "GM in the Driveway". This allowed any GM employee to give 2 authorization numbers a month to non family members. It also looks like that authorization gets you the supplier discount.

I don't like seller games either......I went to the fleet sales....no selling...no haggling....invoice + $400.....they order it....you wait for it...it comes in, you buy it. Could have done it on the phone if I wanted to.

Unless it's a 05 stang GT, CTS-V, Z06, Viper or other new model,

in this current car market without, special pricing plans, going to a buddy, or fleet sales, etc., go walk around the lot, find the one you like, find a sales person, ask for the dealer invoice on the vehicle(s) you want and give them the offer of $500 over invoice + all manufacturer rebates applied to that amount. They don't want to show you the invoice...walk. They want to haggle...walk. There are plenty of dealers that want to sell a vehicle. There are the "problem" dealers that have add-on stickers on every vehicle on the lot. The added offer there is 50% of the add-on sticker. $6000 for 22's and tires, shha right. $1000 for paint protection, that one's free.

If it's a GM truck try trading the dropin liner for a sprayon.

If it's any GM Vehicle and the one you want is in the back lot or just got off the truck, on the dealer invoice is about $600 for advertising/promotional expense. I don't think they tied a ballon on the ones in the back lot or while it was on the truck.

I work for a company that does the GM supplier discount as well as the DCX affiliate rewards and the Ford Partnership recognition program(used to be the x-plan). We supply paints and plastic parts among other things to the auto manufacturers.

My 05 GMC stickered at about 38,400 before a $1500 pkg discount. By applying the $2000 cashback, $1500 loyalty and supplier discount, I was able to take it out the door for 28,500.

If you can find a way to get the discount, by all means jump on it. Most all of the big rebates/discounts will apply after you get the supplier price. It's a helluva plan.

I think before the rebates, my supplier price was 32,000 or so.

Check with any family members that may work for a large company. I bought my truck with the supplier discount because my wife works for State Farm.
