Jacking locations

Almost ready to do the first oil change at 500 miles on my wife's Yukon XL. There is a lot less clearance under there than I imagined. I cant crawl on my back under the tube steps, or get under there from the front. My '88 GMC Suburban has a ton of room though.

So, I need to jack up the front to get under there. What is the best jacking locations ( can use either a bottle jack or a floor jack if I can get it under there). Once I jack up a side, where is the best place to put the jack stands ???

I dont want to do any damage.

for oil changes i suggest buying some ramps from the local auto parts store.

if you have to take the wheels off you can jack and use stands at the frame or the lower control arms.

I agree with asepgrad98, ramps work best for oil changes. I have a set of Rhino ramps that I got at AutoZone. They work great. They're plastic and they're very strong. They're very sturdy and stable and have stops on the front to keep you from driving off the front of them. In fact, once I gave it a little too much gas and the truck just pushed the ramps forward instead of driving off the front. After 4 years of use on everything from a '74 VW Bug and Bus to my '03 Silverado they handle everything and show no signs of wear. Probably the best $35.00 I spent for the garage.
