Ext cab doors don't latch tight

My ext cab doors won't latch tight when it's around 30 or below unless I slam them hard. If the truck runs for 5-10 min. they are fine. The dealership sent me to the bodyshop and they recommended trying WD-40. The other option was moving the latches but that would cause wind noise.

I have tried the white lithium with no improvement.

Does anyone have any ideas? :fume:

There is a TSB on this. Check the site listed at the top of the HD forum.

I have the same problem with mine every winter ( Cold in Canada ), Anyways I adjust mine every winter. Seems that come summer they are still tight, but every winter they move out justa little and need to be tightened up. Myself I just keep the wrench right in my truck to do it. Your gonna do more damage to the seals slamming the door than if you just adjusted them. It's pretty easy once you try it, just be careful of the top plastic piece I broke a tab off mine. I just pull them straight off using a flat screwdriver. Reminds me I have to do mine again soon, notice I keep checking if the top and bottom latch are fully caught

I think in this case, I would look for the problem rather than adjusting them that often. There is something wrong and it needs to be found. The Bodyshops normally do not have access to the TSB's, they will have to be told to get it from the service department. Just my opnions!
