:D hello , just got my 1988 S-10 blazer , free , with a 4 way power angle plow , it,s not pretty but it was free , anyway i did manage to start it today , the truck runs ,ok , but when i put her in 4 whheel drive the front wheels do not drive , i put the tranny in neutral and shifted into 4 low , the gears ground slightly , but when i drove over on the yard where there is ice and snow the front wheels would not pull at all , as far as i know S-10 has auto hubs , is the trasfer case on the chevy manuallly activated by the floor lever or is it electric , like the bronco ll , what else could not make the front wheels want to , i checked to make sure there was a driveshaft , 4 high was the same way nothing

The front axles are engaged by a vacuum switch on the t-case that activates a vacuum servo on the front axle housing, chances are the vacuum switch or the servo may be bad or even a cracked or broken vacuum line.
