Tow Haul problem

Hi;

Take the plastic cover off the steering column and check the two small wires coming from the shift lever. Mine were broke in half. Actually looked like somebody cut them. Wire them together again and tape them up. Try routing the wires a little different so they don't bend in the same spot when you shift the transmission.

Thanks for the reply. I finally got around to checking it. There was one wire broken like yours. The orange plastis sheath the wires were run in has gotten hard and IMO caused the wires to break where it could not flex as designed. The culprit is the shift linkage there has been lubricated by GM with grease and the grease has reacted with the sheath and caused the plastic to get hard. GM are you listening??!!
