I was wondering where would be the best and cheapest place to buy Tires on the internet. I was looking for a Maximum Traction 285/75/16 tire to put on my 02 Silverado Z-71.

most tire stores will match tirerack if you add shipping. i know sears will. that way if you get a defective one there is a real store to help you not some geek on the phone.

Tire Rack is probably the best place on-line for price. Just remember, you'll still have to pay someone to mount and balance your tires, and you'll have shipping costs involved. I buy my auto-x tires from "the rack",because most tires stores don't deal w/ race shaved,'R' compound tires. If you have a BJ's near you, they've got the absolute lowest prices on BFG's and Kelly's. That's where I bought my tires, that way if I ever had a warranty issue, it can be fixed very quickly.

I got a good deal on some BFG Traction TA's for my wife's Matrix from TireRack.com...think it was about $79 a tire and they were at our doorstep in like 2 days. Luckily, I have access to the equipment to mount and balance them myself.

Thanks for the info.

I am looking at a set of Goodyear MT/R 285/75/16's and Toyo Open Country MT 285/75/16's.

I have Toyo Open Country AT 265/75/16's on right now and am looking for a little more grip.

I also have some intrest in the Maxxis Buckshot's too.

Any suggestions on a good tire with good traction and long life that anybody has had a good experience with?
