Question on spark plugs

Took the spark plugs out to put the new ones on and the new ones have a diffrent number on them. Is it going to hurt to put these on even though the numbers dont match?? The number on the new ones is 41-985 AcDelco. The stock ones are AcDelco too.

Yep - Those are the new plugs. I installed a set (along with new wires) last fall.

I can hardly even tell the truck is idling now (it's so smooth)

Good luck-

As long as the ground electrode doesn't have those hockey pucks, suggest you consider cutting the ground electrode off to expose more of the positive electrode.

I cut them off with a Dremel. Cut off wheel is good for about 3 spark plugs, maybe 4th if lucky.

Cut a slot in the plug box flap. Tear it off and poke the ground electrode through. This protects the plug from getting metal filings into the combustion chamber.

Hold the ground electrode with a good set of plyers and then cut off the end.

Makes a difference.

But, if platium and with hockey puck welded on the ground electrode...can't do this.

I've not liked seeing some of those hockey pucks gone after 80K miles on my Suburban. So change them more often and am noodling going to CS143RTs with the ground electrode cut off. Since going to change them more often, why use the very expensive platiums??
