Why? 2500 taller than 1500

Hi All,

Just curious what makes the 4x4 Silverado or Sierra 2500HD's higher in front than the 1500's? I know it's not suspension, becuase you can see that the actual body sits higher. I have heard from some that GM put's a front end body lift of some sort on the 2500HD and 3500HD trucks. Whether or not its true I dont know. If it is true, I wonder if I could get the 2500HD/3500HD GM parts and put them on my 2003 Silverado Z71 to make my stock truck level??? If it isnt true, maybe one of you folks know of a Body Lift Kit just designed for the front of the truck to level it out? Any ideas or suggestions are very much appreciated.

The frames on the 2500 HD's and 3500's are 2" taller than the 1500, 1500 HD and standard 2500. That's where your height difference is.

You wouldn't want to body lift just the front or rear of your truck anyway. It would make the area where the back of the cab and front of the bed meet look pretty strange to say the least.
