I was curious to know how many gallons a 2005 Chevy Diesel Long bed would come with?

Short Box = 26 Gallons

 

Long Box = 34 Gallons

Well......the advertised value of the short box tank is 26 gallons...but...

 

This past week, I had it happen twice, filled up Monday morning on the way to work - 26.5 gallons. Friday night before I got home - 26.3 gallons. I know that you can always squeeze the tank a little more, but when the low fuel indicator went on the "range" was at 20miles, and I was 18 miles from home. I did not mean to push the truck that far. The only other factor was I used the same pump at the same gas station both times...? The oil company trying to get more money from us...no, it couldn't be....

guessing that the tank is a tad oversized, some idiot would probably try to sew if they had smaller than the advertized size and they ran out. plus the filler hose holds some also.
