dash install kit w/ eq

Went all over town looking for a in dash stereo installation kit that had a hole so I could stick my eq in there as well, and nobody had them, it was ridiculous, and the price they were asking was funny as well.

I went online and found a Metra installtion kit, p/n 99-3003. I ordered it from www.thezeb.com, it's here in NC so I don't have too far to drive in case something happens, hopefully they'll ship it soon.

I'll keep this post updated in case anyone wants to order one as well, the total came to $23 shipping/tax.

DO NOT GET THIS KIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am thoroughly unsatisfied with it. It's very cheaply made, and is not worth it.

It sticks out about 1.5" from the original stereo location, thoroughly overhanging the a/c controls and very awkward (sp?) looking. I realize I was trying to fit too much in a small space, but it worked in my s-10, so wtf?!?!

There is nothing seperating the head unit from the eq, and since GM made the space so small, I seriously doubt I will be able to get any of the monster cable rcas back there without serious mods to the dash.

Oh, and since the dash opening is so small on the dash surround, they recommend filing 1/32" for the kit to pass through the hole.

fock that, I'm pissed I wasted money, so everyone be ware.

oh, thezeb.com had it to me in a week that I ordered, so nothing against them, I'm just aggravated at GM's engineering and Metra's quality.

I didn't get any overhang, but a nice clean flush mounting and no filing. But my Metra is on a 2003 Z71 model, if that matters. This is what the Metra kit looks like, with the lower part unpopulated:

Your kit looks way different than mine, your dash is different as well, looks like they gave you a little more room. I put my factory radio back in, i can get a picture if you want to see the difference.
