CABIN AIR FILTERS

Just changed my Cabin Air Filters for the first time and got a complete Shock at how dirty they were. It looks like I will have to change them more frequently.

Not all models have this filter. Is this an option and were is it.

Is there a certain model year they started this?

Not an option. I think all new body style up to and including 02 had the cabin air filter.

In 03 gm stopped the cabin filter. Something to do with it not working with the dual zone heat/ac system.

Go to the Home Page and look under Tech Corner, it will show you where your filters are and how to change them. Very simple, should have done it sooner

Did mine yesterday (1st time after 67000 miles and 4 years), yuck. The bolt over the trans hump is a PITA to get to, don't take it out, just loosen it a little (you need a 2" max. length 1/4" drive extension and 7mm socket).

I followed these instructions:

After you changed them did you notice more volume coming out of the vents? Never changed mine better get on that.

Are they stacked on top of each other? I only located one and pulled it down (01 Tahoe)

Their end to end. Just like I have them in the picture. Pull first one down, then pull second one out, then down.

So, neither of the filters is in my '03? Waaaaahhhhh!! Man, I wish it had one!!! Can it be added from an '02? Hmmm...<thinks about bro-in-laws pickup and wonders if he'd miss it>
