2000 Silverado 2WD problem

About a month ago I started hearing a "deep metalic" clunk sound coming from the front on the passenger side while going over bumps. I have done a visual inspection of the components, but I can't tell where the noise is coming from. Although if I have some bounce up and down on the front bumper I can feel the clunk in the coil spring. I did remove the shock to see if it was bad, but the noise was still there. Any Ideas???

Also the truck occasionally surges when going about 45mph. Any ideas on that??? :D

I had a similar noise. Sometimes it would do it while turning from a stoplight. A lot of times, with the windows closed, it would seem to be coming from right between the passenger seat and the dash in mid air.

If you have the stock airbox, check to see if it's loose.

On mine, the rear "knub" which slide locks onto the tray broke off. I found the broken piece and reattached it by running a sheet metal screw through the box onto the "knub".

No more noise.
