Oil Analyzed

For those who are really oil sensitive, I recommend looking at the forum at www.bobistheoilguy.com folks there are really "into" oil.

If you get worried because you have 8ppm of copper vice 2ppm of copper in your oil analysis, THAT is the site for YOU! (That is Parts Per MILLION) :wtf:

First of all, I'm not a user of Amsoil and never have been. However, Amsoil sells a oil analysis kit (G-1451) is $18.95, this kit includes 2 way postage paid.(I tend to buy like 10 of the kits at a time).

I buy my kits thru Al Lagerstrom @ [email protected] He also has a free auto advice web site (Not as good as this place) at www.freeautoadvice.com

I do not know the guy, I have never met him. I have no connection with him. I was interested in getting a oil analysis done on my vehicles and did a search and he had the lowest price.

THANKS,

I was just checking to see what is going on with my engine, it's still new 7k but I just like knowing, I'm thinking of doing it once a year.

also I'm getting free oil changes at my dealer (mobil1) and I hope they are doing it with the syn.

First of all, my hat is off to you for wanting to do an OA. A very small percentage of people do it. Personally, I would do it every oil change. Why?? The big thing you are doing is creating a datebase of information or a "base line" and when a significant change on any particular element comes along, you have a good base line to compare it to. This will alert you to possible troubles ahead and preventative measures can be taken.

We do it on the farm with every engine on the place. The analysis has saved us serious down time when planting or harvesting in the past and the possiblity of other component failure/damage due to the failing component failing under load.

We buy our sample kits by the case (24 pack) and are about $11 each. I forget the name of the company, I will look when I go to the shop tomorrow and report back.

Good Luck!!
