How large can I go with tires?

How large a tire can I put on my stock 04 z71 without rubbing.. I checked into lifts and those things are $$$.. I figured bigger tires might be a good solution.

No insult to you bud, but this has got to be the number one asked question on this board. By a LONG shot.

With cranking up the t-bars you can fit 285 75 16. Some people got bigger, but there is rubbing.
