Rancho 4" Kit and Factory Rims.

Will the factory, Z-71, 16x7 aluminum rims fit with a Rancho Kit installed?

I remember when I was ordering my Rancho kit, the sales guy wasn't sure if the 16.5x9.75 Eagle 589s were too thick or something that would interfere with a part of the Rancho kit.  Turns out it was ok.

I want to know if anyone has the Rancho kit, and is running the factory rims with no problems.  If so, then I what I want to do is ok :D  , otherwise, CRAP :) !

Thanks for your help!

anyone have thoughts on this???  I wrote Rancho, and the guy at Rancho said my 16.5 x 9.75's don't fit...

Thank you for your interest in Rancho products.  The RS6545 4 inch

Suspension System was developed using a 16x8 wheel with 4.5 inches of

backspacing.  It cannot be used with any wheel (including OE) with

backspacing that exceeds 4.5¡É and /or the wheel diameter is less than

16¡É.

All of the 16.5 diameter 589s listed by American Eagle have greater

backspacing and will contact the replacement knuckles, you would need to

run a 16 inch wheel.

They do vibrate a little, but I can see that they are not touching.   ???

I had the same truck with the same lift. the stock wheels will not fit. however the guy at rancho is wrong. I ran a weld 16x10 with 4 5/8" backspace with no rubbing or clearence issues. 1/8" is not that much, each manufacturer might measure different. A 16.5x9.75 wheel will work with the proper backspace. I have even seen 17, 18, and 20's on these trucks.

Good luck

I don't want to put the factory tires back on, but I do have the spare still under the truck.  And, if it will fit, then I will keep it for use.  Otherwise, I need to get a spare tire that will fit!  Cuz if it won't fit the front, and i get a flat, I am SCREWED!!

The factory wheel will not fit the front because it has 5" backspacing and Rancho states no more than 4.5" backspacing although 4-5/8" will work its damn close to rubbing on the tie-rod mount on the spindle. You need to buy you a spare, just get a cheap metal spoke wheel or black daytona style for $50.

Good call, that is exactly what I was thinking of doing, Y2KZ71.   :)

I bought a Fabtech Flat Spare Tire mount for my bed, that way I could by a Rockcrawler rim ($50), and a 33" spare, and mount it in the bed.  But, I could always by a spare that will mount underneath the truck again?  Still need to ponder, but I already bought the fabtech mount, so... ;)

AAAHhhhh didn't think about the spare.  he he he

That would be bothersome wouldn't it.  You "could" rotate the tires in the process of fixnig the flat but pretty sure you dont want that hassle either.

Good luck
