DRL's

I know most posts now involve the newer GM trucks (99+)  I have a 98 Sierra.  Was wondering - Can the DRL's be changed from the headlight circuit to the turn signal circuit, and would the change be as simple as removing the wire from one circuit and splicing it onto the other?  What problems might be encountered, such as would the brake lights be effected?  As to why I want to do this?  I think it would be cool.  JC
