Anybody here driving a 1500HD w/quadsteer

I've been looking at two different vehicles, an Avalanche and now a 4 door 1500HD. I really like the quadsteer option, but have never driven one, and have yet to find one on a dealer lot in my area. I know the option won't be available for 2006. Just wanted your thoughts. Thanks

I had an '02 Av and now have an '04 Sierra Denali with quadrasteer. The quadrasteer is awesome in parking lots. It also improves towing stability on the highway. I wanted it in my next truck so but I bought an '04 SD instead of an '05.

You'll get better mileage and ride comfort with the Av, but there there are other drawbacks to the Av that I've posted in other threads. I considered the 1500HD, but, like you, couldn't find one on the lot with quadrasteer. Also, if you're going to garage the truck, the 1500HD is a lot longer at about 238" vs. 231" for the extended cab vs. 222" for the Av. If you're looking to order a quadrasteer truck, I remember reading somewhere that they will end production this month. The last of the axles have already been shipped from Delphi.

Quadrasteer rules, 99. I won't own another big truck (bigger than a rc/sb) with out it, whichmeans I'll own this one forever !!!!

It is well worth your effort to locate one. And it's not toolate to order an 05 with it.

The handling is unreal for it's size, towing is awesome- there are no drawbacks to QS. It kicks butt in every catagory !!!

Come visit my site. On the homepage there is a listing of all the unsold-QS's in the US and what dealers have them.

You won't be sorry if you get it  .

I've got a 2004 Quadrasteer. It turns like a little car in parking lots. Once you drive one, you'll never want to go back to driving the boat-like 2 wheel steering trucks.

Great site. Can you tell me where to find a quadrasteer truck in Virginia?

Thanks

WOW, the 1500HD is a heck of a fine truck. Actually, it's a 2500LD.....and with Quadrasteer, it would be absolutely perfect.

It would be very hard to imagine a nicer truck, especially in LT trim (heated leather seats and all that).

I did a search on gmbuypower:

2005 1500HD with quadrasteer:

JBA Chevrolet, Glen Burney, MD $44.8K

Thompson GMC, Raleigh, NC $43.35K

There may be some leftover 2004s. I had good luck going to my local dealer (who I trust) and let them do a search. Good luck!

Do the Q-steer thang! Once you drive one you'll wonder what took so long for someone to come up with this idea for trucks. I did a lot of research before I took the plunge. The only people that bad-mouthed the 4ws were people who didn't have one. Eveyone who owned one raved about theirs.

Quadrasteer - 4 is better than 2. :sigh:
