Here is what mine looks like.  I meassured from the ground

to the fender and it was just under 36 inches on both sides.  I sure wish someone from GM would come up with a definite answer as to how this should be.

Your bump-stops not touching, was that before or after you cranked your torsion bars up?

You posting pics must mean you got your puter problem straightened out.

MB they looked the same before and after there was no difference.

If you really want to do this and you only gained less than an inch and saw no difference at the bumpstops, you need to keep turning those bolts.  I don't know if you already having 285's on, means you won't see the leveling out that others do when they turn theirs to accomodate bigger tires, but you should see a difference.  Where you are running 285's anyway, an inch and a half, which is all you can expect, probably won't do much for the appearence of your truck, just the stiffer ride-

Mine hit the bump stops also and I don't like it very much. Brings up the question are the bump stops acting as the front suspension or is it the torsion bars? I may just crank up the bars and not worry if they sag later. I am going to replace them in the spring anyway.

for some odd reason the ride feels better now.

I am almost maxed out at one of the bolts.  Im gonna try again today and see what i can do.  So far it is about half better from what i can tell.

Mine sit about 1/2 inch apart when sitting on level ground and I havn't touched the bars since I've had them.

Now I have a question.  When you crank up the the bars to raise the truck, does it move the lower control arm further away from the bumpers?  I would think it would, but I thought I seen somewhere else that they moved them closer to each other.

I had no troubles fitting 285's on my truck drove about 10K without the torsion bars up.

I had no clearnace issues

I had to adjust mine to accomodate the 285's.  Will still hear a little rub turning over a bump.  Seems those with 99's and up don't have to, and older body style does-
