Flowmaster Big Block 50

I finally decided to have the Flowmaster Big Block 50 installed in place of the stock muffler. # 530513, 3.0" dual in/ 3.5" single out. I kept the OEM tailpipe. I needed a little more rumble. It's a little loud, but it sounds really mean when you get on it. I kept the stock muffler just in case I wanted to put it back on, but I think I can live with it. It seems to have helped low end by my SOTP meter. Now if I can just keep my foot out of the throttle, I can tell if it helped my gas milage any.

I doubt you'll see any kind of a mileage gain off of it. I had that same muffler put on my truck when it was almost brand new and love it but I didn't get an increase in economy on it.

Who knows, maybe it will help a little on a truck that has some miles on it.

Did it come with the small bend of 3.5" diameter pipe to connect it to your stock tailpipe? If so, did the exhaust shop have to do anything other then just weld it in?

I have been debating on that muffler and keep the stock tailpipe, but none of the shops around here can bend pipe over 3" in diameter. So it would have to be just a simple weld in installation for me to be able to use it the way I want.

How's the interior noise?

my buddy put the 50 series on his 04 Silverado SS. Its a very nice sound. I have the 3.5" magnaflow on my 2500 and I love the sound. We turned the 2 pipes into one 3.5 and did a straight through race muffler..

Silver Bullet-The muffler did come with an elbow. The shop welded it in behind the muffler. It's kind of loud in my regular cab, but I like the way it sounds. If you want quiet, don't get this one.
