breaking in

new GM 2500HD duramax

Only have 15 hours on the motor. I am getting too many mixed messages on how I should drive my new truck.

 

how should I break it in?? and for how long??

15 hours means you're probably nearing the 500 mile mark, right? If you do normal, around town driving for the first 500 miles or so, that is fine. I wouldn't hop on the highway and drive 500 miles at 80 mph, or beat the snot out of it in some other way, but engines today are built much more precisely than in the "old days" so a strict break-in procedure isn't necessary. Just don't abuse it and you'll be fine.
