I just bought a sierra slt. I'm not sure if the remote should change the seating position or do I always have to press the 1 button and same for remote 2?

If you have the memory on the seats stored in the Driver 1 and 2 settings on the door switch then when you use the "1" remote all settings will change to driver 1 settings including seats, mirror, radio, and DIC options. Using remote no. "2" will change everything to the settings in memory for driver No. 2.

Depends on the model year. Since you just bought it, is it safe to assume it's a 2005? If so, read this...

Starting in 2005, all full size trucks and utilities have had a change to the way driver personalization operates. Vehicles equipped with memory seats RPO AN3 will now only recall seat, mirror (DL3), and pedal (JF4) settings for driver 1 and 2 from the buttons located on the drivers door panel. The key fobs will no longer recall memory positions. Radio presets, HVAC (CJ2) and DIC (UK3) setting are now set to the vehicle, meaning there is only one setting for both drivers.

In other words, it only works from the buttons on the door panel.

Thanks for the info. Yes it is a 2005 and it was driving me crazy trying to figure out why my remote wasn't moving my seat. Thanks again. now I can stop playing with those darn buttons. :flag:

Similar things are happening to GM cars too. Our 2004 Malibu remembers stereo presets, DIC settings, last source / station, etc for each driver (based on the keyfob only- no door buttons for Driver 1 / Driver 2 at all in these cars). But the 2005's lose the functionality completely. That stinks for a couple of reasons, one of which is obvious - no more listening to the wife's favorite station when I first get in the car. Another would be that the 2004's individual presets effectively doubled the total number of station presets we can store.

Ok so i have a 2006 truck that i have added 2003 an3 memory seats to...i assume the BCM is what controls the memory? cause i have the 2003 door modules also so what else would i need to change to get the 2003 functionality.....(seat move at key fob).

thanks
