VIN Location

Can anyone direct me to info on how to locate VIN #? Subject is 1947 half ton, the vin on title that came with it indicates a 1 half ton. Any info on where to locate would be greatly appreciated,

Can't help you much if it isn't on the dash, or in the drivers' door jamb.

Back then the vin number and info were on a metal plate and often rivited to the firewall

in the engine compartment.
