Installing a Tranny temp Gauge

Recommended Posts

I know this is an previously discussed topic. I have not found the answers I need doing a search. My 98 Yukon I want to put a trans temp gauge in it. Is there a port on the transmission for the temp sensor? I know on the NBS trucks you can put the Caddy cluster in and the tranny temp gauge is there. I’m just thinking of getting a Auto Meter pillar pod and gauge and be done with it. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am a newbie and don't know about changing the cluster, but your best bet for a pillar gauge is to go to www.summitracing.com and order the remote trans filter kit (and a cooler while you're at it). The top of the filter mount has a plug where the temp sensor would go. It is an easy install. i did it on two previous vehicles. Hope this helps.
