Changing Fuel Filter

I want to change my fuel filter, what is the best way to relieve the pressure on the fuel line? Also, after loosening the lines at the filter can I just push the lines away from the filter so I can slide the filter out of it's holder? The lines don't seem like they will move much.

Thanks

Find the fuel pressure test port up front where the lines are on top of the motor. It'll have a little black cap on it. Depress the shrader valve with a rag wrapped around it. In the shop, we just take the lines loose and relieve the pressure that way. But then it's on a lift and we can jump out of the way. If you're laying on the ground doing this, you'd probably get a fuel shower.

The filter should come out of the bracket once the lines are off.

A mechanic friend of mine said the pull the fuse for the fuel pump and crank engine for about 5 seconds this relieves the pressure, I did it and it worked for me.

Yep, that'd work too. Not a bad idea.
