I never really was a fan of the new grill on the Chevy's (guess I'm partial to GMC  ) but the painted grill on your truck has made me change my mind. Look great!! Good work!!

Nice touch. I am having that done on my 04 chevy too as well as having the cap and lower valance painted to match. I really wanted the entire fron black. I have the same truck as BBSilverado except extended cab. When you painted the grill did you scuff up the chrome on it first.

looks good, I am going to get mine done too for my SSHD conversion. Just out of curiousity...how much did that set you back?

I painted it myself, So it was not that much.

As for scuffing the chrome.... I D/A sanded it.

I am thinking about getting a SS bumper for my truck, Not sure yet.....

That looks really really sharp. If you dont mind, could you give us a quick rundown of the process for painting it. Also, what kind of paint did you use. That is probably one of the best looking mods I have seen, amazing what those little touches can do!

I just D/A sanded it, Then I used this Duplicolor touch up paint that I got at pep boys. Its an exact color match. I put about 2 color coats and 4 clear coats on it.

It should hold up just fine, I did my rear tail gate handle the same way about a year ago and it still looks as good as day one.

What do you mean by D/A?

So you like the way the tailgate handle turned out? Im thinking about doing my door handles too, but I want them to match perfectly.

You can disregard the PM, evidently you check the picture post more than I do!

Thanks!

D/A is dual action, its a type of sander. I bought my handles from GM, They are the escalade handles. I'll try and get a pic of the tailgate handle up tomorrow.
