SHIFT KIT INSTALLATION

Hello. I just received a TRANSGO shift kit for my 4l60E in my '04 Yukon. I have the "professional" kit without the video. It just has paper directions. I am a mechanical engineer and feel confident I can do this on my own, but in looking at the Helm manual, I may need GM Servo Cover Depressor (J29714-A) tool. Is there any other way to remove the cover without the tool? They cost about $225.

 

Also, is there anything else I should be aware of when doing the installation?

 

And are there better directions with photos posted anywhere on the net? I was searching and could not find any. Thanks.
