first wash/wax

hello gang.

well, after owning this new (to me, '03 Sierra) truck, i took it out in the sunshine (rare 50F for Maine) and washed her from top to bottom. drove into the garage and dried her off and then finished off with a nice coat of that Meguiers Gold wax. Looks real good. I thought the paint finish on my '96 Z28/SS (Bright Red) was deep and shiny, but the black on the Sierra is very nice indeed.

Did all the glass, plastic with some products with Turtle Wax and shined up the chrome as well. Tires were done too.

now, if the rain will blow by us tomorrow, i ll be all set...lol

have a great weekend all.

Sounds good man....70 degrees here in GA, not a cloud in the sky....Your right, a black vehicle when clean looks awesome. Sounds like you took your time and did it right...

I took my time doing the wax job. I have a little detailing book every time i put a coat of Zaino on my Camaro. I have waxed (all by hand) a few times in my life..lol

Of course, having a few drinks in between wipes makes the process go by quicker...or did it? lol

Later all.

Did Blue up on Friday night, but unfortunately had to take her to work today due to the threat of rain, and of course it did. Still looks allright though, not too bad. I'll take a slightly dirty truck over getting rained on on the motorcycle anytime.

Last year I polished, glazed, waxed, and hand buffed out my black 99 S-10 Extreme over 4th of July weekend (not the smartest thing I ever did). Two words on how it looked though - pure secks :D

Unfortunately, I sold her shortly thereafter, but I kinda figure all that work netted me an extra $500 when she drove away.

Can't wait to do it all again on my 03 Silvy soon, which definitely needs it, unfortunately, b/c I bought it used and the dealership unleashed a bonehead with a buffing wheel on it when they removed the pin stripe :chevy:

But, I digress - hard to argue with a black vehicle
