99 Silverado Ball Joints

Noticed that the right front tire was wearing on the inside of the tire. So I took it to a buddy that runs a front end shop to do an alignment on it and he called back in about an hour and tells me that an upper ball joint is bad, so I tell him to fix it, he calls me back after a couple of hours and ask if I could sit down for a little bit. I say go ahead and tell me the bad news he tells me that you cannot get the ball joints separate you must buy a complete A-frame to replace the ball joints!!!! You Go GM.

I fell your pain, I put a 3" lift on my 99 stepside GMC and in the course of putting on the lift kit I managed to bust the ball joints . spent the rest of the day calling around to parts store to only find out that at that time (2000) you had to buy that part from the dealer and you had to buy the A frame because they did not sell the balljoints separately. I do not remember how much the dealership charged me to replaced both sides but it was not cheap.
