Intake

Someone explain to me how True Flow can get a way with selling an intake system for $250 that consists of:

Drop-in filter ($40) Unifilter.com

Metal tube (painted) ($20)

Hoses ($20 max!)

Clamps ($5)

You might as well buy the drop-in from the source www.unifilter.com

You might as well buy a $20 tube from ebay and some hoses and clamps to make the connections.

The KICKER:

They claim (although for all manufacturers are blown up) it makes power, but the dyno’s that they publish (on their own site) show NO gain except for a brief section spanning less than 1K RPM. You are expected to believe that they make power in that small section, but the rest of the time it is same as stock? Am I missing something? Why has nobody ever called them on this?

I understand what you are saying but... Is anyone forcing you to purchase their product?? Its not like they told you it was going to be some kind of outrageous and complex design.. Everyone is entitled to make a buck and if you dont think that their product is worth it than dont buy it..

K&N is an excellent company. Top quality products and no inflated claims. No matter what you buy, if it's any good at all, it's gonna cost ya.

I can't see spending that much cake on something that doesn't net you much gain...

all right , good feedback.

That is all I was looking for.

-While everyone is entitled to make a buck-it should not be at the consumers expense by inflated claims.

Example: How would you like to buy a new car that CLAIMS 30 MPG and you get 10MPG. (and yes we all know that new cars dont get exactly the number, but you do get something close at least).

There is a good reason why K&N doesn't advertise their gains for their drop-in filters. I do like K&N drop-ins, you do get what you pay for.

Capitalism 101...if there wasn't a market for it at that price then it wouldn't be for sale. As long as there are buyers out there....

You are correct they should not claim a numerical gain and not get it but you said their website posted their actual dyno sheets with limited gains in a narrow power band. This is not lying if you ask me they are giving you the information and making it your responsibility to decide if it is worth the money.. And BTW I am not employed by truflow I am just tired of people that trash anyone for trying to run a business their way or charging a given price for services or merchandise. To sum it up you dont like it, dont buy it!, but dont ruin someones name because of a personal opinion.
