smooth68 Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I like the look of no moldings - not much work either. Thinking about doing the sides next. Nothing wrong with the factory look...other than everyone else looks just like me then... Also I know people have suggested using goo-gone or WD-40 to remove the sticky tape, but I bought some 3M cleaner from the local part store and it works MUCH better than WD-40. Tailgate pic
71GMC_3/4T Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Looks NICE!!! I did the 'gate and 2500HD logos on the sides of my truck over the last couple weeks. Unfortunately I didn't have any 3M cleaner... I did learn that duct tape helps pull off the last of the goo quite well. Stick it down, peel it up, repeat several times...
smooth68 Posted May 24, 2005 Author Posted May 24, 2005 duct tape - I'll try that when I do the sides...
roden001 Posted June 4, 2005 Posted June 4, 2005 couldn't help but laugh when i read the title of this thread
mmmikkke Posted June 5, 2005 Posted June 5, 2005 couldn't help but laugh when i read the title of this thread <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Could have used this for title and subtitle... De-goo'd my rear end And it's clean as a whistle. Smells like citrus. In case there's any doubt, I am only trying for humor here. No criticism or insult is intended. I like how the GM tailgate looks with the emblem removed, I might even try that myself.
smooth68 Posted June 5, 2005 Author Posted June 5, 2005 I was trying to add a little humor when I made this thread as well! I've removed the side piller XLT badges...verdic is still out on whether I want to do the side moldings.
