Z-71 Tahoe owners, need your help

Hey guys,

I have a 02 Tahoe LT. I was wondering if I could put just the air dam from a Z-71 Tahoe w/ the round fog lights and install it on my Tahoe? If so, any idea's on how much this would run?

I was thinking about doing that on my pickup a while back, and from what I recall, the total came up to around $350. You have to buy the lights, and the airdam. I think the light kit was $200, and the airdam was around $100-$125.

But that's strickly from my memory, which is (on a good day) pretty fuzzy.

Ditto on that wingnut. Long time man!! Haven't talked to you in a while. I got frank to change my name to this one from "Flodine". I am thinking about doing it. That price isnt that bad to me.

I was wondering where the mod-happy Flodine went

I checked at 2 salvage yards today for the Z71 Tahoe airdam, and neither of them had one, they kept trying to sell me the same one that's on my truck telling me "that's a Z71 air dam"....It took a few minutes of drilling it into their heads that the Z71 Tahoe had it's own style, with round fogs.

Upshot is, if you can find one at salvage, all the (perfect condition) airdams they had were only $25.

Slightly off topic, but does anybody know if the round fogs do any better than the worthless fogs that came on my truck?

I seen where someone got the Tahoe Z71 air dam and bought some aftermarket round lights from Wal-Mart or a parts store for around $40. I think they were 50 watt lights. They looke pretty good.

That's what i plan to do if I ever come across the air dam.

Wingnut,

Yeah, thats me. Probably not going to lift this truck. Too much $$$ involved when you get in that deep. I would think the round foglights would project more light, but thats just me. I haven't actually been in front of both lights to see.

Tom,

How's that truck of yours doing man? Body lift still making that truck look tough!! I am sure you could do that. I am going to call some salvage yards and check at my local chevy dealer.

Hey Chad...if you haven't already, check out this airdam from PIAA. I will give you the look and performance you want...but its most likely pretty expensive. :seeya:

I have a Z-71 Suburban and I have to get my Zippo out and light it to see if my round fogs are on or off. It is really pretty sad!
