creaking / crackling noise

GM Expert....

I brought my '03 yukon to the dealer to fix this creaking / crackling noise that was coming from the front wheel areas. I read a thread on something similar to this one only thing my truck is not 4 x 4. He had a 4x4 truck which the creaking/ crackling sound was coming from his front axel joint or something. Well my problem is locating these creaking / crackling noise because the dealer can't pinpoint where the noise is coming from. I could hear it most when I drive near a barrier wall. Need the GM Expert in here to help me with some info on this. Can you provide me with the problem code you techs use, so I could show it to the tech at the dealer. Thanks.

problem code? I really don't know what you mean by that.

As for your noise... can't help much there either. Noises are difficult enough to find and fix when the vehicle is right there in front of me. Trying to do so over the internet is nearly impossible.

I hear them when my windows down and driving next to a barrier wall. The creaking/crackling sound echoes off the walls to me. This happens only at low to mid speed. I'm thinking it's coming from the wheel assembly area. Well help me if you can. Thanks.........

I have an `05 Sierra Crew Cab, 2wd and I have the same problem/noise. I took it in to the dealer and was told it was the transmission mounts. Needless to say, I still have the noise. I took it to an Off-Road Shop and was told that it was my drive shaft. He seemed pretty confident in telling me this.

I don't think the creaking noise is coming off from my trans mounts nor D-shaft. It's more likely coming from my left wheel hub area. When I spray silicone spray on all the joints in the area, the noise stops. It's only when its been a month or so when it starts up again. Also took my yukon to the dealer shop and told me its this its that, so I took it upon myself to fix the problem myself. A mechanic I personally know told me to buy silicone spray and just spray all the joints containing rubber. It worked for me.
