Is the trailer electrically hooked up while you are testing?

that series of brake controller is 'proportional' based on a pendulum. All electric brake controllers (except for Jordan) tap off the brake lite line as their signal that the brakes need application.

I actually like and have used the REESE BRAKEMAN DIGITAL REMOTE TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL for many years. I like the remote unit best of all, it laies right next to me on the seat for quick action

yes the trailer is hooked up when testing. i took my complete brake controller and wire harness from my 99 silverado and plugged it into my new 05 hd could the wire harness jumper be different from my 99 and that is why it wont work. it sure looks like the jumper supplied with the new hds

YOu say you took the connector out of your 99. Did you put the fuse in as well. I know when I had mine done they had to put the fuse in the electronic panel under the hood. Mine is a 2001, so I do not know if it applies to yours.

accoring to the instructions with the gm harness it says if you have the tps auxilliary battery option then do not install the fuse? i dont understand why

The '05 harness pin-out is different from the 99, this is likely why the controller isn't working properly. Someone else here will have to chime in with the correct pin-outs, I don't have them...

The 99 harness is different, that is why it is not working. Again, I don't remember the pinouts, but you could figure it out by applying the brake and figuring out which pin becomes hot in the box under the dash.

You can get the change at the Tekonsha site.

They moved the red wire (the one that goes to the stop light switch). That explains why the lever works but not the pedal.

OLD NEW

Blank Black Blank Black

Blank Blue Red Blue

In the '04 manual they tell you not to install a fuse in Post 1 if you have the dual battery option (That is not the same as Diesel Dual Battery). Post #2 is for the brakes.

Had the same problem with my 2005, but by using the harness that came with my 2005 fixed the problem. My 02 harness would not work on the 05.
