1999 chevy suburban no start ?

Recommended Posts

1999 Chevy suburban 1500 4x4 22000 miles. Three times this vehicle would have a no start condition. The lights have power, just no crank. Once the brake pedal is pressed, it starts up. This may be a coincidence. The battery is the original from the factory. The car is garaged and was dry for all failures. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Rich.

It sounds like you may have a bad ground wire somewhere.  I would start by taking the battery cables off the battery and cleaning the terminals really good.  Also inspect the cables to make sure they are in good shape.  Also check the ground to the chassis and make sure it isn't loose.

Did these problems happen over a short or long period of time???

I have had a problem with one of my motorcycles before...  the bike is fuel injected and I could here the fuel pump turn on and the lights would burn bright but no cranking!!!!   The problem ended up being a bad connection on the Negative terminal of the battery.  I cleaned it and the thing cranked like it was going into orbit!!!
