i have an 04 2500hd crewcab with a 6.0l gas engine and 4:10 gears. what rpm should i be runnin at 80mph with no lload

Assuming you have stock tires, I'd guess in the neighborhood of roughly 2500rpm, maybe getting closer towards 2700.

My Silverado SS with 6.0L/4.10 w/20" wheels/tires ran about 2400-2500.

Too high to get good gas mileage I have that truck with 265/75R16 tires. If I get to that speed today, I'll report back.

I have the same truck. When I had 245/75R16's @ 75 mph I was pulling about 2500 rpm's. I now have 265's and at 75 mph I pull about 2450+/-. I don't get to 80 very often, but my guess is that it'd be somewhere close to 2700 rpm's.
