2 inch blocks

Recommended Posts

i know most people lower the rear to make the truck level, but call me old school, but i like the jacked-up back end look. right now i have a stock suspension '99 1500 and im thinking about put a pair of 2 inch blocks in the back and i want to know if new shocks will be a must. right now the suspension back there is smooth as can be and i wouldnt mind giving up a little ride comfort.

also, if new shocks are a must, got any suggestions with a moderate price range? i really have no knowledge about shocks with lifts.

thanks

I'd get a set of shocks from a stock Z71. (I assume your truck is 2wd) The Z71/4x4 1500s come from the factory with a 2 inch block. I would also advise getting the blocks from GM parts. (List price is $8.xx each, and IMO the GM blocks are better than aftermarket). The ride is great, just slightly firmer, but not stiff by any stretch.
